Principles of a good logo design
A Logo design plays a vital role in the representation of companies, products, and services. This is the face of your company as most people will encounter your logo before stepping a foot in your office or shop.
Your logo represents and dictates to a potential customer what your business is about, it gives the outside world an instant visual impression of your brand.
A good logo should be simple
Good logos feature something unexpected or unique without being overdrawn. An effective logo design should be memorable and this is achieved by having a simple, yet, appropriate logo. The easier it is for people to process things, the easier it is to remember.
A logo design must be versatile
An effective logo should be able to work across a variety of mediums and applications. Not only should your logo get its message across in only one colour, but it should also be simple and clear enough to be seen and understood on large as well as small scale format.
Choose the right style
There are various logo design styles to choose from. Each style communicates its own non-verbal message. To illustrate: if your company is in the financial industry, you will steer away from a funky and trendy logo and rather opt for a more classic modern style, while a tattoo parlour will favour a more vibrant and funky logo.
In conclusion, there are many aspects to consider when you are in the process of getting a logo designed for your company. Choose your designer carefully, deliberate over the style, colour selection and message at length. A good logo design does not come cheap, but will go a long way to cement your company name in the industry, giving you a great ROI.
